Partners and Resources

San Francisco is honored to be home to many international organizations.

San Francisco Global Trade Council: Links local businesses to diplomatic and governmental trade officials globally and also hosts many private business meetings and briefings. 

Asia Society of Northern California: Focuses on political, cultural and economic issues in Asia and sponsors on-going speeches, seminars and panels. 

United States Foreign Commercial Service: Provides assistance to U.S. companies looking to enter overseas markets or find foreign partners. 

California-Asia Business Council: Supports small and medium-sized business interested in doing business with partners in Asia.

Center for International Trade Development (CITD): A state funded, community college program, provides basic training in international business, trade logistics, import/export and trade finance. 

Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) are specially designated areas in or near a U.S. Customs Port of Entry, but outside of any U.S. Customs Territory. In these specially designated areas, Foreign and domestic merchandise can be stored and manipulated together. Goods can be brought into a zone without formal Customs entry or without incurring Customs duties or excise taxes until they are entered into American commerce.
