Business Assistance

San Francisco’s vibrant business environment supports more than 60,000 businesses and employs more than one-fourth of the region’s total workforce. Our population is one of the most intelligent, innovative and ethnically diverse in the world—factors which continue to contribute to a highly motivated, productive workforce. We understand that our robust business community enriches the community as a whole. That's why the Office of Economic and Workforce Development is dedicated to helping to ensure the ongoing success of local businesses.

San Francisco's OEWD is constantly working to attract new businesses to San Francisco and support the companies who have already chosen our City for their enterprises. Business assistance programs include everything from business loans to tax credits and district planning grants—plus a wide range of resources to help San Francisco businesses take root and thrive.
